The following suggestions are based on feed back from friends, family and clients. They are all in my neighbourhood, the 7th arrondissement, and within easy walking distance to buses, the metro and shops. All the hotels have air conditioning and free wifi.
Keep in mind that check in time is usually in the afternoon around 2pm. If you arrive earlier, which is a common occurrence when you fly in on a transatlantic flight, hotels will generally allow you to leave your luggage at the reception while you wander around until your room is ready.
